kitsch klub gathering

I spent saturday afternoon with my buddies from art school. we call ourselves the 'kitsch klub' (long story). our assignment for this meeting was to create a self-portrait. we then exchanged them randomly. i did a self-portrait in dryer lint. kim is now the proud owner of it.

renee and kim are comparing salt packaging. renee is holding a really cool plastic pouch with a spout for pouring the salt. and -- this salt package had a great story on it about where the salt came from (something about ancient sea beds). i guess you know which one i liked the best.

kim just bought a new Mac that has an application on it called Photo Booth. we had fun playing with it!

Sounds of the Underground

Lots of people have asked me what I’ve been up to this summer. So -- I thought I’d give you a taste of a recent day at Shoreline Amphitheatre. The event is called “Sounds of the Underground”. It’s a day full of heavy metal and speed metal bands. Rock on!

My pals Dave and Norma who work in the front office at Shoreline. They’re doing the heavy metal salute.

This is a band from Poland called "Behemoth". They have the KISS make-up thing going on -- that's so 80's isn't it? By the way, I'm usually standing in front of the stage with the guys in the blue shirts. This is where I keep an eye on the photographers for the first three songs of each act.

There's the heavy metal salute again. And it's a good thing I got the memo about wearing black to Shoreline that day.

Ahh. Another 14 hour day at Shoreline comes to an end. This is the last band on the Sounds of the Underground line-up. They're called "As I Lay Dying". Catchy isn't it?
