pencils and patriotism

natalya enjoys an ice cream sundae on the last day of school

Natalya got a new pencil from the dentist this week as her "prize". It's red, white and blue with stars and stripes on it. Natalya showed the pencil to Andrea and me.

Andrea exclaimed, "what a patriotic pencil!"

Natalya: "what's patriotic mean?"

Andrea: "it means that you love your country."

Natalya: "No. I just like pencils."
